PROJECT / CLIENT DESCRIPTION
Every year at ESAD.CR (Instituto Politécnico de Leiria), the Co.D (Communicating Design), takes place during the second semester. It´s a three-day event promoted by the Graphic Design and Multimedia department, with conferences, exhibitions and book and publishing fairs. In 2019, together with the main event, the Graphic Design Department decided to organize a smaller one in the first semester, making this initiative still more present in the academic calendar. The main theme of the event was the connection between design and music.
MY ROLE – branding, event design, animations
CHALLENGE, PROCESS
& SOLUTION
Our mission wasn’t just making poster for event, but identity and vibe. We were focused on the whole event, from posters to stage design and interaction with visitors. We think that interaction and connection are very important when it comes to the whole identity.
We want to guide visitors with colours, music, lights, and scene elements. Our goal was to create an invisible path from the entrance through the university to the auditorium with music, which was unique to a specific guests, and we also include some scene elements made from wood. At the auditorium we created a stage, that is also specific to each guest. We put some lights and scene elements. There was specific music playing in the background. During the presentation, we streamed specific animations for each guest (on the left or right side of the wall). When the first guest stopped talking, we created a completely different environment with different lights, scene objects, music and vibe.
WHAT I LEARNED &
SKILLS I GAINED
In event planning and implementation, I discovered the value of user experience. I also observed how different types of music, light, and design have a big influence on individuals.
